So I was snooping around in my kitchen cupboards the other day and found a stack of vintage plates that have been hidden away since we moved into this house...14 years ago.
I cleaned 'em up a bit, got out the hammer and nails, and put them on display above the doorways in my kitchen:
It makes me happy to finally see them on display, which has put me in the mood to do some reorganizing around the house...switching out curtains, touching up with paint on the walls, and soon we'll be buying a new couch to replace the very worn-out one in the living room (17 years old, it's seen better days). Now if it would just warm-up a bit outside; it's -4 on out there today. Brrrr!
I love those plates. My mom inherited a bunch like that from an old German aunt who had a massive collection. I think it's wonderful to display them, instead of leaving them in a cupboard.

When I read the title to your post I couldn't help breaking out into song "I like plates ... place like me" (sing to the tune of "I like life ... from Scrooge). ;-) Those plates are so sweet and look awesome in your kitchen. The molding on your doors is so pretty! Love me some old houses.

So smart to put them on the wall! I have a collection of bowls but they are hidden away from the small people who break things. :-)

They're beautiful! I also love that gorgeous yellowy-gold on your walls. Looks so warm, (hopefully against that darn -4 degrees outside - lol!)

Love those plate!! I've been eying a few at the thrift store lately--I think they'd look lovely hung above my sink (mental note: get the plates!)
