I'm happy to report that I finished a pair of socks that had been lingering on the needles for a loooong time:
They turned out just right, and I love 'em. (Ravelry deets here.) But then, there's hardly a pair of knitted socks out there that I don't love.
I really want to cast-on for another pair, but first I need to finish up a test-knit for Jess of Fifth Lamp Down:
This'll be a little top for Juliet; Jess is a phenomenal knitter, and I can only hope to serve her pattern well. So far, so good, though...I love me a bunch'a mindless stockinette in-the-round, especially with summer vacay in full-swing around here. Today the kids and I slept in late and went to the Minnesota Zoo in the afternoon; a great time was had by all, and I got some pretty cool pics, as well. If time permits, I'll devote a post to the animals later this week. Ta-ta for now...
It's looking mighty fine! I love the color.

Love the cranberry colored yarn on your new socks. And the color on Juliette's new top says cantaloupe to me. Maybe I need a snack...

The yarn you used on those socks is awesome. I love it! I'm envious of your long summer stretching out before you. It's all work, work, work here. Argh.

Wow, those are gorgeous socks! They must have been time consuming with all those pretty little cables and they look warm and comfortable.

I love those socks. I (sockingly) don't have a pair of socks on the needles. Maybe I need to cast a pair on...
The yarn for that test knit is delightful!

I have, like, five skeins of sock yarn-- and I haven't knit a "real" sock yet! Doh. Somewhere I heard that if you just bought the yarn, the knitting would come! Ha.
