Also known as "Floss-monster,"
"Flossers,"
and "Puppers."
The day after Thanksgiving we drove 2.5 hours (each way!) and picked-up our Flossie. She is soft and playful, into EVERYTHING (thank goodness for her kennel, or "den," as we like to call it), and we're lovin' her all up. The kids have been eager to help with the care, entertainment, and safe-keeping of Flossie; although it's a lot of work raising a puppy, I know the rewards will be huge and the journey a whole lot of fun. I mean, just look at those ears! Those eyes!
Toby is rather unimpressed, I think, but he's a pretty good sport. If I could read his mind these days I'd say he'll be happy when Flossie grows up because maybe then she'll stop trying to bite his tail! In the meantime, he'll continue to concern himself with squirrels and mail-delivery professionals.
She's so cute!

I love hounds. I once rescued a coon hound - she was so skinny and malnourished when we got her I called her Miss Minnie AKA Skinny Minnie. She kept digging out of our yard and bolting. We finally found her a home with someone who had a farm and she could dig and howl till her heart was content.
I love the Floss-meister. She's a cutie pie.

Flossie is such a great name and she is crazy cute. My kids are little obsessed with Basset Hounds because of their soft ears and nice personalities.

She is precious. I love her soft-as-velvet face (and ears). I want one so badly.

Something really strange happened yesterday when I tried to post my comment. A huge page long error message came up that I could not get rid of until I shut down everything. Weird.
But really it's all about Flossie. She is so danged cute I can hardly contain myself. Oh all that loose puppy skin and the puppy breath, and the velvet ears. I could eat her up.
