I'm happy to report today that I finally finished a pair of socks that I've been knitting for the past 5 months. Yes, FIVE MONTHS. All's I can say is that "Second Sock Syndrome" was breathing down my neck until I finished the other night.
Details are ravelled here. I think I lost gusto on these because I just wasn't totally diggin' the colors. Lately I've been loving the jewel tones of red, pink, purple and blue; orange and brown just isn't doin' it for me right now.
That said, if you're in the market for knitted socks I can't recommend Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch enough. It's extremely versatile, perfect for beginners (I believe) as well as advanced sock knitters, and how she has you construct the heel (no unsightly gaps!) is perfect.
While grocery shopping yesterday I picked up a pomegranate, with the idea that I'd use it in a salad for dinner. Here's what I came up with:
I cooked-up some red beets, cooled them down and then tossed with pomegranate seeds, feta cheese, fresh spinach, sliced avocado, balsamic vinegar, and a bit of olive oil. It was delish, especially alongside BLT sandwiches. Anyone have any other suggestions for how to use/serve/eat pomegranate seeds? Because I love them.
That salad looks to die for! I'm sitting on the couch and salivating :)

The socks are gorgeous. I for one, am a huge fan of that particular color scheme. I think you'll change your mind now that fall is on the way! Now if I could just finish the TWO pairs I have started and abandoned. The dang, dang heel. The super hard, dang, confounded heel. I really need to get over my fear of the heel. Yours look flawless.
I love beets and feta. I never would have thought to put pomegranate seeds with that pair, but it sounds perfect.

Love the socks - I think they're perfect for fall. I've been knitting (and frogging) one sock for the past 3 months. Goodness knows if I'll ever actually get to number 2!

The socks are fab.
The salad looks amazing.
I love pomegranate seeds on everything, especially my cereal and grilled veggies.

I love the colors of your socks. That is what I most want to knit, but I'm a bit intimidated. That salad looks delish.

Great job!! Your feet are going to love wearing them even if the colors aren't exactly perfect.

Beautiful socks for Fall, Paige. Nice work. And thanks for the sock book recommendation. I'm about to embark on my first pair of knitted socks and good gap-free book to see me through would be helpful.

Beautiful socks! Congrats on finishing them. I love pomegranate, but the seeds bug me. If you serve it on salad like that, do you just swallow the seeds?
