That's because I made some major modifications; after I'd knit up the back and the front panels, I realized that it was either gonna be too small, or that it would fit just right. Turns out, after blocking and seaming the shoulders and sides, that it was indeed a tad on the small side. What to do, then?
I turned to my new favorite book, Crochet Adorned, and added a border to the bottom for length. Then Juliet tried it on and declared that she didn't want any sleeves (oh, pity!), so I added the same crocheted border to each shoulder, and she was finished.
I tried to get a good picture of Juliet wearing her new top, but she has been none to impressed with having her picture taken these days. Instead, I'll bid y'all a happy weekend, and sign off with some flower power:

what a great solution to the small-ness! I'm never sure what size my knitted goods will turn out :-) The embroidery is a lovely touch.
