Made My Day
A few weeks ago Knittymama honored little ol' me with this award:
Becca writes such a nice blog - and she's one heckuva knitter and spinner. Thanks for thinking of me, Knittymama!
I've only been blogging since November, and I have to say that so far it's been just totally fun and so inspiring. I'm glad to be here...and here's to those folks who've made me feel welcome in the land of blog and to whom I'm thankful for routinely "Making My Day!"
Right back to Knittymama, of course!

In other news, it seems the flu has worked its way into our home. Drat! The only one who's sick right now is the littlest one. We spent a good part of our day like this:

It's been awhile since we've utilized The Storchenwiege, simply because she got to a point where she'd get irritated with being all wrapped up after 5 minutes and would insist on getting out. After awhile, when I would hold it up and ask if she wanted me to carry her, she'd respond with an emphatic "NO!" And who can blame her? Walking, running, exploring...all great fun.
Anyhow, the Storch was a lifesaver for me when she was a babe. Last winter, when we'd walk to the busstop every day to fetch Charlie, I'd wrap her up and throw my big coat on over the both of us and feel good just knowing she was totally warm in there. We volunteered for the plant sale at school, sorting orders cheek-to-cheek. We both loved it, and I maybe we still do...? Recently she's been asking me to "wrap" her again - now I've gotta practice-up on some of those other holds, like the one where I can carry her on my back.

She slept like this for about two hours in the late afternoon today. Actually, she gave up on napping quite a long time ago - the only times she sleeps during the day now are when she's in the car or in the wrap.

So far everyone else in our household has been pretty dang healthy this winter, touch wood. Although Charlie did start complaining of a stomach ache before bed. Double drat! Oh, well. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

1. You moved! Welcome to your new place.
2. I love the way you are carrying your daughter. Super cute.
3. Thanks for the joint project with mom comment. Yes, it is a very convenient relationship :)
4. Gee. Thanks for the award. I am honored.
